Valentines is quickly approaching and I find myself shopping my home for vintage items to use for decorating. Something with a pop of red is a MUST!

To quote Andrey Hepburn ” There is a shade of red for every woman”.
I think we can say that is so true for Valentine’s Day.

Hearts are a traditional shape we use for Valentine’s Day as well as XO (HUGS AND KISSES)
When hunting for goodies for my home, I try to think of different ways I will use them. I found the metal circles a few years back. I immediately thought about Valentines Day for the “O”, but I also use it for the “O” in Ho Ho Ho for Christmas. Would you see an “O” when you found this old metal rusty circle?

Of course, I then needed an “X” I grabbed a few pieces of chippy white wood and connected them into the shape of an “X”. Old wheels of any size can be used for the “O”

Let’s not forget about the number 14.
We all know that magic number! Adding simple metal numbers is a perfect way to highlight a holiday. I have a set of these old metal numbers and they are great to use for any event associated with a date, or number.

And remember, vintage goodies do not need to be “Valentine theme”. Just using something with a pop of red may be all you need.

Something as inexpensive as a vintage apron or maybe a blanket are easy to find and can add a fun and cozy vibe to your spaces.
The pillow here is from The Vintage Pelican. She hand makes all of her pillows are they are amazing. This was a splurge purchase. Be sure to go check out her account on Instagram.
So does this make you rethink some of the items you already own? Maybe they can be used for Valentine’s Day.
