A few weeks ago Target started getting in the Valentines items. Like everyone that loves to decorate I couldn’t wait to see what was coming in. I am ashamed to say I was hitting Target every other day just to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. I picked up the spoon set a cute banner, but the best item for sure was the bubblegum machine.
As you can see it was bright red and it totally doesn’t fit into my decor. But I knew I could fix that with a few coats of spray paint.
I went to work getting it ready for its makeover. A latex glove was the perfect item to use to cover the glass globe. Just make sure you adjust it to make sure all of the red is exposed.
You want to make sure it can be covered with the spray paint. Also when you remove the lid take the plastic ring on the inside out. You will need to spray the top and bottom of lid so that the red can not be seen on the inside.
I took it outside and got to work spray painting it.
Be sure to flip it over to get complete coverage.
I LOVE Rust-oleum Heirloom White, but you can use any color you like. I think painting it pink would just limit it to Valentines or Spring. The Heirloom White is a great color that can be mixed into any seasonal decor.
Allow it to dry thoroughly. Once you bring it in you can fill it with candy or any items of your liking. I went with traditional conversation hearts. To save on the amount of candy I would need I filled the bottom with paper towels.
I filled her up and she was ready to be put on display!
