I have had these vintage bank bags lying around for years. I just never knew what to do with them. One day I stumbled upon them and the idea hit me….. Valentines Hearts!
Let me show you how I made fabric hearts with them.
These bags have been in my fabric collection for probably 15 years. I am not even joking. At one point I had them framed. I was going through a big RED decor addiction. They went back into the closet and were never seen again.
One day I was cleaning out and stumbled upon them. The idea hit me, VALENTINES DAY!
How cute would they be cut into heart shapes and used for decor?
I grabbed a piece of cardstock to make the perfect heart shape. I wanted to make sure I used as much of the bag as I could.
To make the vintage bags go further, I grabbed some old grain sacks from my collection. I used them for the back of the heart pillows.
Using my pinking shears I cut the hearts out. I was going for a shabby look and I knew they would help create that look. I found mine on Amazon if you don’t have a pair. They are so useful when doing sewing projects.
It was fairly simple after that. I didn’t take photos during, so sorry.
I simply sewed the two hearts together leaving a small opening to stuff. Once they were full to my liking I hand stitched them closed.
They are so cute to toss on anywhere. I placed mine on a tray on the dining room table, but I think they would be great in a tiered tray also.
If you don’t have bags I found a few similar items on ETSY
