These DIY Easter Carrots are made from thrift store wood carrots and Dollar Tree artificial ferns. When I spotted these wooden carrots at the thrift store I snatched them up.
I love to create inexpensive holiday decor.
These carrots fit that criteria perfectly. The entire bundle was only $3.00! Now to say the ribbon that was attached was UGLY is an understatement. It was very 1990’s green and lots of raffia. Just not my thing, but I knew they could be brought up to date with very little effort and money.
First I began by removing all the UGLY
And sorry not sorry, I don’t have the before photo of the ugly ribbon.
I gathered up my supplies and got to work
These adorable artificial ferns came from the Dollar Tree. You can not beat this for the $1 price tag. I had the metal wire on hand, but if you don’t have any it is easily found at most craft stores or even the Dollar Tree in the floral section.

Begin by cutting your ferns down to size. I thought they looked best the same size as the wooden carrots.

Now grab that wire and your scissors and add your greenery to the top of those carrots.

Once you have the greenery attached, twist that wire as tight as you can. Also you could add a drop of hot glue to the back to make it more secure.
Now lets add a bow for some softness and to cover that ugly wire.

I keep a few scraps of fabric and ribbon around for small projects. Tossing anything I may use one day is so hard for me. One of my biggest faults for sure. Yes, I am a hoarder! LOL. I found this soft gauze-like ribbon and I just knew it would be perfect for these little carrots.

Well look at that.. They are all dressed up and ready to be added to my Easter displays.
Have you started decorating for Easter or Spring? I am so excited to add these to a tiered tray display I will be sharing with you all soon.
